It begins with the employer, who prepares a Foreign Worker Employment Contract and, when required, secures confirmation that no qualified local candidate was available for the position. Once the Ministry of Labour stamps this contract, the applicant separately files for the visa itself at the embassy, submitting police clearance, proof of residence, and occasionally a medical certificate. Only after arriving in Morocco does the final stage begin, applying for a residence permit through local police, typically issued for a year and renewable alongside continued employment.
Short-term assignments under ninety days follow a lighter track that skips residency entirely, though they can’t be extended afterward. Either way, working under a standard eVisa remains strictly off-limits, and that visa type can never later convert into proper work authorisation.
